Comparaison du développement d’une pensée en images et d’une synesthésie en fonction de l’histoire développementale du langage oral chez des sujets adultes avec un trouble du spectre autistique de haut niveau

Abstract : Objective:
objectify a potential link between the visual cognitive style, the thought in pictures, the synaesthesia and the atypical oral language development in subjects with a high-level ASD.
Population:
22 subjects. 8 subjects with ASD non-synesthetes, 8 subjects with ASD and synesthetes, 6 synesthetes subjects without ASD.
Method:
online survey with 23 questions. 14 on synaesthesia and 9 on oral language development.
Result:
No significant enough statistical results to confirm or set aside the research. Interesting testimonials to understand autistic and synesthesic mode of functioning.
Conclusion:
This study provides a better understanding of the different cognitive profiles of individuals with high-level ASD and to raise awareness of the phenomenon of synesthesia in the speech-language community.
