Maladie de Parkinson et kinésithérapie : quels sont les freins actuels à la prise en charge précoce de ces patients ?

Abstract : Today, Parkinson Disease (PD) is a real public health issue as the number of patients supported by a physiotherapist (PT) is quite low. 37% of patients with PD don’t follow physiotherapy sessions. Furthermore, parkinsonians receive care too late in their condition, missing the optimal care period. The objective of this work is to raise obstacles to the early management of patients with Parkinson's disease. Obstacles have been identified from four main actors: on the one hand, the patient and his context of life. On the other hand, medical professionals (general practitioners, neurologists) and paramedical (PT): the lack of initial and continuous training depending on the year of the certificate or thesis, ignorance of the interest of physiotherapy in the early stage of the disease, disorders in inter-professional collaboration generating not optimal management for the patient. Several areas of improvement to confront the obstacles raised are accessible to all actors in the care. In the future, it is important that care be optimal and equal for all patients with Parkinson's disease.
