Rééducation sensori-motrice de l’instabilité chronique de cheville par Stand-Up Paddle

Abstract : Chronic ankle instability is a current pathology where the main traitement is the proprioceptive physiotherapy. The Stand-Up Paddle may be an interessant rehabilitation tool thanks to its playful side and important destabilisations that it creates. Method : the main goal was to show if the Stand-Up Paddle is as effective as conventional rehabilitation, in regaining active stability in a person suffering from chronic instability, and how this support can help to increase patients’ motivation. Protocol of the study was supported by litterature review. This review made an inventory of sensorimotor rehabilitation in order to determine the best methods. Results : the "Wobble Board" seems to be the favorite tool to use in this protocol. Discussion : the investigation suggests that Stand-Up Paddle could be an effective method of chronic ankle rehabilitation, thanks to destabilizations in the frontal plan and its motivational aspect, despite material constraints. That is why this study protocol should be used to determine these assumptions in a scientific way.
