Le port de compressions élastiques sur le segment jambier lors de la course de fond a-t-il un impact sur la récupération ?

Abstract : The practice of running increases from year to year. At the same time, runners are looking to improve recovery time in order to reduce the risk of injury, increase the amount of training, or simply improve comfort. Compression sleeves are part of these strategies. The purpose of this work is to prove if the compression garment has a real positive effect on recovery when worn during an endurance effort, or if it results only from a fashion effect. The methodology to answer to the issue is a non-systematic review of the literature. After careful consideration, 12 studies were selected to provide a theory. Wearing an elastic compression reduces muscle oscillations, increases venous return, reduces neuromuscular fatigue and intracellular albumin dosage, while the effect on Creatine Kinase seems to be inconclusive. The number of studies and their methodological quality limit the impact of these results.
