Abstract : Because of his awarness and independance, the doctor uses to denying his own sikness the autodiagnosis et automedication. The goal of this study was to evaluate the behaviour of the general practitioner in the prevention and early detection in colorectal, breast and cervical cancer screening. To do so, we conducted a observational descriptive quantitative and retrospective survey based on a questionary in order to estimate the participation of the general practitioners of the departments of Calvados, Manche and Orne to those screening programmes and compare the participation to the general public. Among 1247 questionary sent, 414 were analyzed. With a participation rate estimated at 58% for both sex in the colorectal cancer screening of 2017-2018, the general practitioners of our study are more involved that the general public who showed a participation rate estimated at 35% (p=3,899E-5). The women explored had a participation rate for the breast cancer screening at 73% against 56% for the general public (p=0,0933). The participation rate by cervical smears were about 68% for the women of our study who could participate to the cervical cancer screenig between 2016 and 2018 against 56,9% between 2015 and 2017 in Normandy in the general public. Despite of an active engagement of the main influencers in screening cancers, the care of the sick doctor is not optimum in their opinion and targeted measures are necessary in order to have an increased participation of the general public.
