Identification des races espagnoles de Podosphaera xanthii (Px) dans le bassin de production de melons charentais de Murcie (Espagne) ainsi que des nouveaux hybrides agronomiquement intéressants en vue de l’introduction de résistance(s) à la race Px : 3.5 dans les futurs cultivars Enza Zaden

Abstract : Around 45% of consumed melon in France comes from abroad (with more than 65% from Spain). The seed company Enza Zaden makes the selection for new Charentais melon varieties in France. As the Spanish market is an important part of the seed buyers, it has been necessary to select more specifically toward Spanish problematics. This thesis deals with two problematics. The first is the correct identification of the Spanish race of Podosphaera xanthii occurring in the melon production area around Murcia thanks to Px panel ranking and also the quality control of genetic markers giving the resistance to this race (previously found by Enza Zaden). The second mission was the trial monitoring of new hybrids in the same production area. The goal is to identify the most interesting hybrids when it comes to the yield, quality, pathogen resistance...for next year selection programs,
