Quelle(s) identité(s) paysagère(s) pour le département de la Manche ? Analyse des représentations iconographiques et littéraires du XIXe siècle à nos jours

Abstract : As part of the preparation of the landscape atlas of the Normandy region, which aims to identify and qualify its landscapes, this study is particularly interested in the cultural aspect of the department of Manche (50). It raises the question of the department's landscape representation, past and present, and therefore its identity in the collective consciousness. The Manche has undergone many societal, economic and historical changes. Based on an analysis of the iconographic and literary representations of its landscapes from the 19th century to the present day, the aim is to highlight the impact of these changes on the department's perception and on the construction of its current landscape identity.
