Connexité dans les essais argumentés produits par des apprenants indonésiens du français

Abstract : Based on the hypothesis of linguistic relativity and contrastive rhetoric, this study was conducted to observe the process of acquisition of French as a foreign language (FLE) among Indonesian learners by analyzing: (1) the principles of organization of the argumentative text written in French and Indonesian by the native speakers, and (2) the traces of the mother tongue that are present in the argumentative essays produced by learners. This study used purposive sampling technique to collect data consisting of 10 French argumentative texts written by French speakers, 10 argumentative texts in Indonesian and 10 French argumentative texts produced by Indonesian learners. The result showed that the principles of textual organization in Indonesian and French are not identical. The argumentative texts of the French speakers are more convincing and more structured than the argumentative texts of the native Indonesians. The textual cohesion is also stronger in French than in Indonesian. Then, the learners acquire the French traits quite well but they still transfer certain strategies of their mother tongue when writing texts in French
