Alimentation végétale supplémentée en DHA d’origine micro-algale au cours du cycle de reproduction de la truite arc-en-ciel (Oncorhynchus mykiss) : conséquences métaboliques chez les descendants

Abstract : Aquaculture feeds have significantly evolved towards inclusion of a significant proportion of plant raw materials. Nevertheless, the replacement of fish oil with vegetable oils reduces the availability of long-chain omega 3 fatty acids such as DHA. During the 25 weeks preceding reproduction, 3 groups of females were fed with, either plant-based diet supplemented, or not, with DHA from micro-algal origin, or with a commercial feed rich in fish oil and fishmeal. Based on the nutritional programming concept, this study assessed the metabolic abilities of rainbow trout progenies in relation to the broodstock nutrition. Effects on offspring have been studied after being fed 12 weeks with a plant-based diet supplemented with micro-algal DHA. Although juvenile growth performances have not been affected, differences in feed efficiencies, body compositions, plasma metabolites and expression of some key genes involved in cholesterol metabolism, lipogenesis and long-chain fatty acid biosynthesis were observed. Our results confirm the concept of metabolic programming, linked to maternal nutrition.
