Validation d'un modèle phéno-climatique de contamination des fleurs d'abricotier par Monilinia sp.: étude de l'influence des facteurs autres que climatiques sur le développement des monilioses sur rameaux d'abricotier

Abstract : Blossom and twig blights are fungal diseases of major importance in stone fruit culture and are currently the main technical barrier to organic apricot production. The profession has no tools at its disposal to effectively manage orchard’s protection. The ClimArbo project focuses on the molecular and phenotypic characterisation of Monilinia sp. (pathogens responsible for blossom and twig blights), the study of contamination periods and the identification of risk factors. In this context, a pheno-climatic model of apricot flower contamination was developed in 2018. This study involves on one hand validating the relationship between the risks of flower contamination calculated by the model and the levels of damage observed on the shoots. On the other hand, it involves identifying non-climatic factors that may explain model deviations by monitoring a plot network. Thus, the influence of flower abundance, inoculum, variety, type of agriculture, plot position and sensitivity of the late flowering stage (G) on the incidence of twig blight was tested. The study was able to validate the relationship tested in experimental and commercial orchards and highlighted the influence of last year's impact on shoot damage. The sensitivity observed in stage G allows us to propose to take it into up to 50% in risk calculations. Finally, differences in varietal behaviour were noted in addition to the influence of the type of agriculture and the position of orchards on damage levels. Other studies would make it possible to study these factors together to evaluate their interactions and thus better understand the dynamics of Monilinia sp. in commercial orchards in order to propose a relevant tool for their management.
