Le vécu et les ressentis des parturientes pratiquant l'autohypnose durant leur césarienne

Abstract : Objective: Cesarean sections in France are more often considered as a medical intervention rather than a birth, and few people get preparation for it. Alongside, hypnosis is soaring in the medical field, particularily in obstetrics. This study was conducted to describe and analyse the impact of hypnosis on the cesarian birth experience. Method: a qualitative study by semi-leading comprehensive interviews was conducted among 12 mothers who had been prepared for a cesarian section with hypnosis, in weeks 3 to 12 of the post partum period. Results: Mothers who used autohypnosis during their C-section are satisfied with this tool and consider their experience as positive. Analysis and discussion: Hypnosis is a tool for these mothers that helps them manage their emotions during the C-section and to find their marks. A calm environment, caring professionals and a respectful attitude towards theirs wishes also condition a positive birth experience.
