La prise en charge de la santé bucco-dentaire de la femme enceinte par les chirurgiens-dentistes

Abstract : There are more and more studies showing causal links between periodontal diseases and their consequences on pregnancy. In this context, and although a systematic oral prevention consultation has been set up since 2012, pregnant women have trouble finding professionals able to treat them.
The main objective of this work was to evaluate the knowledge and practices of dentists regarding the care of pregnant women. We have led a quantitative and multicentric study, based on a questionnaire completed by dental surgeons and distributed through the mailing list of la confederation nationale des syndicats dentaires. The total sample consisted of 260 people. The analysis was descriptive, and statistical and was perfomed using the uncorrected Chi2 test and the Fischer test. We were able to conclude than in our sample the management of pregnant women by dentists was generally appropriate as well as a multidisciplinary work, involving midwives in particular.
