Variations morphologiques du carpométacarpe sur un échantillon de Mimidés provenant des Antilles : existence d'une influence phylogénétique et de facteurs biogéographiques ?

Abstract : The Mimid carpometacarpus is a bone with high taxonomic potential and is the appropriate material to study morphological variations. This study is part of a predominantly morphometric approach supported by an osteological analysis. The analysis is based on a morphometric study with the application of landmarks in order to see variations but also on an osteological study by determining an osteological criteria key. The objectives are to test several hypotheses that may imply morphological variations on the carpometacarpus : phylogeny and certain biogeographic factors of Mimidae. With regard to the results, they are in favour of the hypotheses and would induce subtle but visible morphological variations within the different genera and species of Mimidae. Further studies are possible to confirm these results with confidence.
