Analyse des pratiques profesionnelles sur la préparation à la naissance et à la parentalité chez les grossesses gémellaires

Abstract : Background : The midwife in her place, through prenatal education, in the support of twin pregnancies considered as high psychosocial risk, and thus allows a global support of couples from pregnancy to their parent’s role. Study design : A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out. It includes on the one hand a qualitative analysis of content, through semi-directive interviews with pregnant women who have given birth to twins in a type III maternity hospital in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, and on the other hand a quantitative analysis using a questionnaire sent to these women, one month after their birth, to their e-mail address. Results : The women interviewed are pleased with their preparation when it has been individually adapted to their expectations. Topics such as breastfeeding, possible separation from twins, return home, and psychomotor development were not sufficiently explored during these sessions. Discussion : A personalized preparation starting earlier in pregnancy would be more appropriate for these pregnancies. Digital educational materials and greater access to information (user associations) would be good to support these couples throughout their pregnancy.
