Master Thesis

Alcool et grossesse

Abstract : As the first cause of non-genetic mental handicap, and unavoidable pathologies, all of the problems caused by foetal alcoholization are a real plague to our society. The after-effects, mostly non-reversible, will become true handicaps for children touched by such a thing. In order to help precocious patients, the treatment would require a multidisciplinary coordination from health professionals. This is the reason why I chose to devote my thesis to the study of prenatal exposure to alcohol. This thesis will be composed as such: a first part dealing with pathophysiology of alcohol, a second part bringing the FASD (Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder) up, in their full form or not. Finally we will study which means of treating the mothers and children suffering from troubles linked to foetal alcoholization can be offered.
