Bien-que-le-risque-cardiovasculaire, CV) et la mortalité soient augmentés dans la polyarthrite rhumatoïde (PR) et la spondylarthrite (SpA), les mécanismes conduisant à cet excès de risque CV ne sont pas clairement établis. L'imagerie par strain qui analyse la déformation myocardique permet une détection précoce des maladies CV (MCV). Les objectifs de l'étude étaient d'évaluer la dysfonction myocardique infraclinique par strain chez des patients sans MCV et d'analyser les facteurs associés

Méthodes, Une échocardiographie bidimensionnelle et doppler avec analyse du strain a été réalisée à l'instauration d'un premier traitement biologique et après un an de suivi chez les patients atteints de PR et de SpA sans facteurs de risque CV. Les patients ont été comparés à des témoins appariés selon l'âge et le sexe avec une échocardiographie normale et aucun facteur de risque cardiovasculaire.
