Burn-out et qualité de vie chez les médecins généralistes français en 2019 : existe-t-il un lien ?

Abstract : Introduction: the caregiver suffering is constantly increasing. As current literature shows, general medicine, because of its place in primary care use, is particularly exposed to the risk of burnout and must protect itself from it. The main objective of this study was to show the existence of a link between The perception of a poor quality of life and the presence of a severe burnout among French general practitioners. Methods: quantitative, cross-sectional and descriptive study. The subjects of the study were the physicians whose CDOM agreed to the release of the three-part self-questionnaire: socio-demographic data, Duke health profile and MBI. Results: among the 1,198 questionnaires collected (1.36% of the French general practitioner population), 42.8% of participants had at least one high dimension in the MBI and 3.8% were in severe burnout. The average quality of life score for general health was 66.2% ± 14.5. The risk of severe burnout was significantly higher with most of the factors tested: male, divorce, rural, wage labor, < 5 weeks leave/year, > 2 guards/month. Sport would have a protective role. Limits Among the related factors, no causal link could be established. Conclusion: our study confirms that the more burnouts occurs, the lower the quality of life is. In view of this fact, it is essential to implement measures to control the doctor’s quality of life.
