État des lieux du dépistage du virus de l’hépatite C (VHC) dans un centre d’addictologie

Abstract : Introduction: the objective was to document and characterize HCV serostatus screening among a population beginning treatment in an addiction treatment center. Method: clinical records of each patient were screened for serostatus documentation. A descriptive analysis based on data collected in clinical record was performed according to the serological status documentation. Results: 213 patients were included among which 27.2% (n=58) of patients had their serologies documented in the medical record. Screening was targeted at patients in precarious situations (p=0.0042), substance use by injection (p=0.049), and psychiatric comorbidity(s) (p=0.0086). Conclusions: testing for HCV was targeted at at-risk patients. In view of the high-risk practices of this population and the evolution of the effectiveness of curative treatments for HCV, systematic screening could be proposed.
