Intérêt de la relaxation sur la « voix de sourd » chez des personnes atteintes de surdité de perception congénitale bilatérale profonde : étude de cas

Abstract : Speech therapists assess and treat a wide variety of symptoms and ailments, within the realm of deafness.Indeed, deaf people, due to a lack of auditory feedback, may have difficulties controlling their voice ans may have complaints. With this in mind, we were interested in the possible link between relaxation and the improvement of the « deaf voice ». In this study, we sought to assess the effect of a regular pratice of relaxation in three adults with profound hearing loss. It is postulated that this may lead to a state wherein the patient will have a heightened awareness of his body and thus be more capable of regulating vocal production. In order to study the possible impact that relaxation could have, three case studies have been proposed in adults aged 30 to 50 years. The subjects have a profound bilateral congenital perception hearing loss and have this so-called « deaf voice ». After an evaluation of their vocal parameters, a weekly relaxation session has been proposed to them. The final assesments have highlighted some improvements in pneumophonic coordination, articulation and general well-being. These results therefore encourage the practice of relaxation with this people.
