Cartographie des maîtres de stage des universités dans la subdivision Océan Indien

Abstract : BACKGROUND : The ambulatory internship is essential for general practitioner residents. The main objective was to map the ambulatory internships to help residents choosing their internship. METHOD: This is a transverse observational descriptive study carried out with approved University internship tutors (UIT) on march 2019 in Indian Ocean subdivision. This survey collected socio-demographic data, data relating to the office, the organization of the internship, the practice of medicine and specificities in terms of training. RESULTS: 168 UIT were included, 118 responses were analyzed. There were 63.6% male, the average age was 51 years, the majority exercise region was the southwest with 55.97% of UIT. There were 75.4% of group practices, 9.3% of non-scheduled medical consultation centers, 9.3% of maternal and child protection centers. 79.7% of the residents could participate in visits if their UIT did so. 98.3% of the UIT performed technical acts. 53.1% of first level residents had a dedicated consultation room, as did 85.8% of second level. UIT who started between 0 and 5 years had a statistically different exercise zone (p = 0.046) than UIT who started more than 5 years ago. CONCLUSION: There is a clear imbalance in the number of UIT between the different regions of the Indian Ocean subdivision. Some UIT have specific exercises related to the type of office in which they practice. An interactive map on the one hand and a dedicated secure website on the other hand gathering the information obtained have been created for the benefit of general practitioner residents and local institutions.
