État bucco-dentaire des femmes enceintes et examen bucco-dentaire de l’assurance maladie

Abstract : Background: pregnancy is combined with changes in oral sphere that can increase the needs for dental care and prevention. Objective: describe dental status and the needs for care in pregnant women of the Pellegrin hospital maternity and compare it according to their knowledge of oral-dental examination of health insurance. Methods: a cross-sectional study was conducted from May 2019 to September 2019 among pregnant women at the maternity of Pellegrin hospital, in Bordeaux. Carious experience, periodontal status, knowledge and participation in oral-dental examination were noticed. Results: 117 patients were included, between 18 and 36 weeks of amenorrhea. carious prevalence was estimated at 29,9% (95% ci = [21,8%; 39,1%]), and periodontitis prevalence at 34,2% (95% ci = [25,7% - 43,5%]). oral status was worse in patients who didn’t know the oral-dental examination than those who knew him. Conclusion: pregnant women have important need for dental cares. A better promotion of preventive oral-dental examination would be necessary.
