La gestion des émotions chez un enseignant d’EPS : quelles différences entre un enseignant novice et un enseignant expérimenté ?

Abstract : The current state of research shows the importance of emotions in the school climate. These emotions in their expression may or may not encourage students to engage in activities and learning and to have a caring atmosphere in the classroom. The teacher’s emotions are also present and interact in a complex way with those of the students. Their mastery appears to be a strong professional competence necessary for the teaching mission, if teachers take them into account. Two case studies were conducted with a PE novice teacher and an PE experienced teacher in interviews. They are focus on the use and management of their own emotions in their lessons. Is professional experience the only one condition that moves the teacher to control his emotions? The results show the importance of this management at different stages of the career. A preservice program about the emotional skills of PE teachers could have a positive impact on their mission.
