, old children: retrospective study of the AVCnn cohort Summary Neonatal Arterial Ischemic Strokes (NAIS) occur during a period of cerebral maturation while the brain is at a vulnerable point. These children are keeping long-term motor and cognitive impairments even though some functions are partially preserved thanks to neuroplasticity. The objective of this study was to investigate the impact of a NAIS on the reading skills of 7 years old children and the factors that could influence its acquisition. The analysis of the reading skills of children from the AVCnn 7ans cohort shows that 44% don't have the expected level of decoding. Performances are strongly correlated to oral language profile, metaphonological skills, and socio-economic factor. Epilepsy is a high risk factor for not acquiring reading at this age. The lack of correlations between injury factors -such as lesion side or localization-and our results suggests that we have to consider these children beyond their injury. Providing early support to the child and his environment and a long-term follow-up is recommended to prevent later repercussions on schooling and quality of life, Comprendre la trajectoire développementale des enfants ayant subi une lésion cérébrale précoce représente un enjeu de santé publique et d'éducation.
