Tu fais comme moi, je fais comme toi : l’exploration des rôles de l’imitation en séances de psychomotricité avec de jeunes enfants

Abstract : Imitation is important through the life of every individual, yet its functions are often poorly known. However, it is a necessary tool, both in self-construction and in some learning processes. It also allows to establish communication with people. For a patient, relationship to his own body and to other people’s body is the base of imitation. This is why, imitation is to be used in psychomotor therapy. Thus, a good understanding of the functions of imitation will allow the psychomotor therapist to adapt its therapeutic project for each patient. This study is therefore based on my clinical observations in a center for early medical and social actions (“Centre d’Action Médico-Sociale Précoce”) as well as on theoretical researches. The main goal is to appreciate the different functions of imitation for young children.
