Probiotiques : quels liens entre microbiote et neurologie ?

Abstract : The intestinal microbiota is composed of many microorganisms, including bacteria that belong to different families. Currently, these bacteria appear increasingly to play an important role in homeostasis, far beyond their role in digestion of food. Indeed, if many evidences already show implication of intestinal bacteria in the development of inflammatory bowel disease, recent studies show that these bacteria are also involved in the development or in the severity of several neurological pathologies. In this context, although their mechanisms of action remain unclear, research is currently focusing on probiotics that may offer new and promising therapeutic perspectives.
