Prise en charge médicamenteuse du sevrage tabagique en officine en 2019

Abstract : In France and throughout the world, smoking is a major public health problem. In our country, there are approximately 75,000 deaths per year, making it the leading cause of preventable death. Many laws have been put in place to reduce tobacco consumption since the Veil Law in 1976. The measure with the best cost-efficiency 125 ratio remains the increase in the price of a packet of cigarettes ; today around 10 euros. Smoking is a long-term pathology. The resulting addiction makes it difficult to quit with frequent relapses. Many treatments, medicinal or not, exist. Since 2018, some nicotine substitution treatments are reimbursed by health insurance. This represents a major step forward in helping people to stop smoking. The pharmacist, as a health professional, can and must get involved in this public health mission. Since the HPST law of 2009, new tasks have been entrusted to him. However, the care of smokers in pharmacies remains limited. Many obstacles still in place, particularly related to the pharmacy activity and the lack of financial recognition for the fight against smoking.
