Acceptabilité par les internes de médecine générale de l'Océan Indien d’un outil d’auto-formation en ligne (e-learning) proposé par l’Institut national du cancer (INCA) sur le dépistage des lésions précancéreuses et cancéreuses cutanées

Abstract : Introduction : The incidence of skin cancers has increased in Reunion island. The initial education in these lesions screening is insufficient according to many general practitioners and general practice residents. Our main objective was to assess the acceptability of an online education tool on skin cancers early detection, on the site of the French national institute of cancer (INCA), by first and second year students of the general medicine residency (GPR) at the French University of Reunion Island. Materials and methods : This monocentric non-randomized experimental study included the first and second year GPR. The data collection lasted 25 weeks from March to September 2019. Two questionnaires composed of multiple-choice questions and clinical cases were sent to participants by email before and after the online training. The training tool, validated by the INCA and freely accessible online, included courses, pictures and clinical cases. The training was deemed acceptable if at least 70% of the inclusives performed at least 70% of the training. Results: 42 (33%) out of 126 included GPR participated in the first questionnaire, 13 (10%) trained online and answered the second questionnaire. 4 GPR (3.2% of inclusives) of these 13 GPR did more than 70% of the training. Discussion : According to our main judgment criterion, this training tool has been considered as not acceptable by the included GPR. However, our work has shown the participants' interest in additional skin cancer screening training, especially in the e-learning format.
