Influence des thérapeutiques de reminéralisation sur la profondeur de pénétration de l'acide chlorhydrique utilisé lors des protocoles d'érosion-infiltration

Abstract : Purpose: The aim of this work was to study the impact of preventive or conservative remineralization, when realized before resin-infiltration procedure, on penetration depth of hydrochloric acid used before application of resin infiltrant. Material and method: 45 premolars extracted for orthodontic purpose, exhibiting a demineralization area simulated by acid etching, were divided in 3 different groups P1 Tooth Mousse remineralization, P2 Duraphat toothpaste remineralization, T control group. 5 applications of hydrochloric acid 15% were performed on buccal faces and 2 on palatal or lingual faces. The forty-five tooth were immersed on methylene blue dye. Visual evaluation allowed to assess the presence or absence of blue coloration et its localization (enamel and/or dentin). Then quantitative evaluation was performed by depth coloration measurements using Image J. Results: Remineralization using Tooth Mousse allowed significantly lower penetration depth than Duraphat and control groups. No significant difference were highlighted between the 2 and 5 cycle conditions for the Control and Tooth Mousse groups, whereas a significant difference was noted between these 2 conditions in the Duraphat group. Conclusion: Choosing Tooth Mousse as remineralization agent before resin-infiltration procedure seems to impact penetration depth of hydrochloric acid. Deep infiltration would be relevant when remineralization using Tooth Mousse has been previously performed.
