Cette dernière, en troublant le versant langagier du patient, l'isole socialement et entrave la communication avec son entourage. Conséquence directe de l'AVC et de l'aphasie, la dépression se développe chez 30% des patients post-AVC, et plus particulièrement chez 62% des patients aphasiques.
