Intérêt d’un modèle d’évaluation de l’alliance thérapeutique dans la prise en charge des patients souffrant de lombalgie chronique : une étude qualitative réalisée auprès de MKDE libéraux

Abstract : Therapeutic alliance (TA) between a patient and his therapist is the key of chronic diseases treatment. During the treatment, the challenge for the therapist is making sure of this alliance and its quality. The purpose of this study is to understand the ways used by physiotherapist to assess therapeutic alliance quality. Especially, this study tries to figure out the interest of a TA assessment model in the chronic low back pain treatments. Design: This study was a qualitative research, based on semi-structured interviews with 9 freelance physiotherapists. It aimed at collecting their feedbacks regarding therapeutic alliance, its building and its assessment. Results : To assess TA, physiotherapist mainly used subjective methods by analysing patient’s behaviour or by asking them for feed-backs. This study showed an interest among physiotherapists interviewed about using an assessment model of therapeutic alliance. Conclusion : To conclude, this research highlights the interest of therapeutic alliance assessment in chronic low back pain treatment. It also allows new prospects about therapeutic alliance assessment research, for instance studying the possibility of using existing therapeutic alliance scale during chronic low back pain treatment.
