Étude quantitative sur la place du masseur-kinésithérapeute dans la prise en charge des tendinopathies du membre inférieur chez les danseurs professionnels

Abstract : Tendinopathy of lower limb is very common in professional dancers. A prevention of this pathology may be offered to professional dancers by physiotherapists in a public health issue. The aim of this study was to define the role of the physiotherapist in prevention of lower limb tendinopathies in professional dancers. Methods : a self-administered retrospective questionnaire was sent to professionals dancers by social networks. The questionnaire contained item on lower limb tendinopathy epidemiology, physiotherapist role and prevention. Results : professional dancers returned 126 complete surveys. 64% of them reported at least one lower limb tendinopathy during their career. 83% of them had recidivism or chronicity of this pathology. Physiotherapists were consulted by 56% of the dancers who had this injury. 57% of dancers who had prevention had it with physiotherapist. Finally, 97% of dancers of the present sample who have not received prevention wanted to receive it. Discussion and conclusion : lower limb tendinopathy and recidivism are common in professionals dancers and there is a need to prevent it. This study may be helpful to improve the role of the physiotherapist in this prevention, wich is a public health issue. More research with significative results is needed to guide future physiotherapists’s prevention efforts.
