Place de la chaussure minimaliste dans la prévention des blessures liées à la course à pied : une revue de la littérature

Abstract : Running has multiple health benefits but is also an important source of injuries. Minimalist footwear has become a popular trend, questioning the benefits of the standard shoes. However, no evidence-based guideline has been presented. Risks and benefits of running in these shoes have yet to be defined. Problematic : compare the rate of injuries and pain experienced by runners between these two shod conditions. Methods : in February 2020, a review was performed examining multiple databases. Search words focused on three topics: running, footwear and outcomes (i.e. pain and injury). The level of evidence of each article was appraised using the PEDro score and the CONSORT or STROBE checklists. Results : Eeight articles met the inclusion criteria. Moderate evidence supports the following results: the transition to minimalist footwear may cause injuries but runners used to minimalist shoes may report less injuries than traditionally shod runners. Some running shoe constructions could affect injury rate. Conclusion: Future research is needed to clarify these results
