Évaluation en ergothérapie et tests neuropsychologiques : deux approches complémentaires pour initier le parcours de rétablissement des personnes ayant une schizophrénie

Abstract : Objective: Studies show that cognitive disorders are more disabling than other symptoms in schizophrenia. The aim of this research was to understand how occupational therapy assessment could complete neuropsychological tests in order to evaluate the impact of cognitive impairment on daily life activities. Method: Six semi-structured interviews were carried out with three occupational therapists and three psychologists working in the psycho-social rehabilitation field. These interviews were qualitatively analysed in alongitudinal and transversal way. Results: The present study revealed that a gap between an individual's performance in neuropsychological tests and in occupational therapy assessment could exist due to the effects of environmental or emotional factors. Discussion: By evaluating occupational performance, occupational therapists grasp cognitive disorders in a systemic way. Thus, the correlation of both assessments may lead to a more comprehensive view ofan individual’s situation.
