Santé en voyage : adapter la composition d’une trousse à pharmacie « essentielle » aromatique pour le voyageur

Abstract : Attractivity for "natural" medicines offers a complement alongside conventional medicine. Aromatic plants have been used for thousands of years to cure people and essential oils are now a well-know and highly efficient presentation. A lot of scientific researches showed their role in the care of everyday life hazards. When traveling, they have a great advantage: their containers are easy to carry in a backpack and they can be used easily. Their powerful, fast and effective effects should not make us forget their potential toxicity. The "practical" tools presented in this thesis, illustrations and tables, show the biochemistry of EO, their concentrations, indications, dosages and precautions for use, in order to adjust and optimise their use. The work carried out in this thesis guides the traveller and gives him fact sheets that can be used as a supporting tool during his excursion, to manage unforeseen health-related events happening during his trip. The fact sheets also support the pharmacist - acting as a healthcare provider - who ensures EO quality to patients from purchase to delivery. Hence, those sheets support the pharmacist to fulfil his professional duties and allow him to deliver the appropriate advice to each patient. The healthcare professional warns and informs the traveller on the use of EO, by strictly respecting the dosage, the ways of administration. They guarantee good use for everyone to leave in safety and lightness.
