Processus et facteurs du transfert de savoirs, savoir-faire et savoir-être lors de la formation des enseignants à mener des jeux de rôle d'enseignement à la relation médecin-malade pour des étudiants de 4ème année de médecine

Abstract : Introduction: physicians' training on doctor-patient relationship and communication has been demonstrated in scientific literature for more than 25 years. Currently, patients' demands tend to increase in a medical context mainly centred on cure (and less on care). Moreover, most trials are linked with communication issues. To deal with this problem, Paris-Descartes university built a course centred on doctor-patient relationship, including role-playing, consultations with simulated patients and Balint groups. A training of instructors on role-playing was implemented to enhance pedagogical quality. A brief literature review didn't find any studies on evaluation of training the trainers. We sought to explore processes and factors affecting transfer of skills, knowledge and attitudes during this training to improve its quality. Method: a monocentric qualitative study conducted 15 semi-structured interviews with instructors. Interviews were recorded, then transcribed and analysed using Nvivo software according to the Grounded Theory method. Results: 4 themes emerged from analysis: instructors' involvement and motivation; reflexivity; skills, knowledge and attitudes acquisition; instructors' supervision. Conclusion: this study showed relevance in training the teachers and the points that need improvement in the future.
