Modélisation théorique de la dynamique de population d’un insecte ravageur (Drosophilia suzukii) combinant densité-dépendance et transmission de symbiotes manipulateurs

Abstract : 1 - The Drosophilia suzukii fly, native to Asia, is a fly that devastates many fruit crops (especially berries). This fruit fly has recently invaded Europe and is currently at the heart of projects aimed at developing an integrative fight against it. The technique of management by cytoplasmic incompatibility (ICM) is a self-control technique. It works by releasing individuals of the target species infected by the Wolbachia bacterium, a disruptive symbionte that generates cytoplasmic incompatibilities, a phenomenon that can lead to the laying of non-viable eggs. Combined with positive density dependence effects (Allee effects), invasion by Wolbachia can lead to the disappearance of the host population. Our objectives in this course are to understand the interaction between (i) demographic stochasticity (ii) density dependence and Wolbachia invasion. 2 - (i) Stochasticity has little effect on the invasion process under conditions that are conducive to invasion. (ii) The invasion process is little affected by density dependence in the form of the Allee effect, whereas in the form of competition it seems to have a negative effect. During the study the invasion times obtained are very long. Finally, we did not observe a monotonous decrease in host populations during the invasion, a result which diverges from the results of previous generalist models.
