Restaurations tout céramique en prothèse conjointe : quels matériaux pour quelles indications ?

Abstract : For over 40 years, ceramic materials keep evolving and make it possible to offer biocompatible, aesthetic and mechanically resistant restorations. Today, they are an alternative to ceramic-metal reconstructions. These new materials present multiple, different, even contradictory and sometimes complementary properties. They can differ in their chemical composition and their microstructure, their principle of shaping, their mechanical properties or even their method of assembly. We also highlight their biocompatibility and their capital contribution in the domain of aesthetic and biomimetism. These multiple properties represent the criteria for choosing its systems which can lead to diverse indications. Indications which must perfectly be known by the practitioner / laboratory technician pair. The objective of this work is to offer a synthesis to help the practitioner in his therapeutic choices in fixed prosthodontics.
