Actualisation des connaissances sur les limites de préparations verticales en prothèse fixée : les vertiprep

Abstract : The vertical preparation of prosthetic dental abutments is an ancient technique, developed in the years 1950-1970 by Dr Amsterdam. For ten years, this concept has been updated using the biologically oriented preparation technique (BOPT), better known under the name of vertiprep. The objective of this thesis is to take stock of vertical preparations. This concept, associated with the concerns of tissue economy, leads us to a rational approach which includes biology, biomechanics and aesthetics. After a few reminders on the limits of preparation and the essential role of soft tissue biology, this work describes the indications for vertiprep, their advantages and disadvantages as well as the prosthetic materials used. After detailing the clinical implementation protocol and the laboratory steps, this work ends with illustrations of several clinical cases.
