Traumatismes maxillo-faciaux chez les femmes victimes de violences conjugales : revue systématique de la littérature

Abstract : Intimate partner violence affects millions of people every year. One in three women say they have already suffered physical violence from their partner, usually involving injuries to the head, the face and the neck. Dentists and maxillofacial surgeons are therefore on the front line to be able to detect signs of physical violence. However, in practice, only a small percentage of practitioners seem to intervene in these situations. This difficult context implies the identification of victims and their care. Unfortunately, current training in dental surgery seems insufficient to ensure optimal care for victims of domestic violence. Analysis of the current literature could identify the various maxillofacial injuries found in victims of domestic violence, and thus allow better care for these victims.
