Mini-vis de traction orthodontique : analyse de la littérature

Abstract : Miniscrews constitute a real revolution in the management of orthodontic anchorage. Thanks to a simple and reproducible clinical protocol, its indications are numerous which continue to push the limits of the conventional anchoring systems. This therapeutic method of intra-osseous anchoring improved the biomechanical approach in orthodontics, allowing a direct or indirect skeletal anchorage. Through clinical cases, both conventional long trans-mucosal bone screws and short miniscrews inserted into cortical bone are described. Their characteristics, indications and clinical procedures are discussed. The use of miniscrews in bone stimulation shows more and more interest in the scientific community and deserves to be taken into account. The risks and complications must be known and taken in consideration while developing the individualized therapeutic strategy of each patient. Minimally invasive, the miniscrews are removed once the goal is reached. Their ease of use and their success regardless of patient cooperation make them an ideal type of anchorage and a valuable orthodontic therapeutic support for children, teenagers or adults.
