Étude sur la vaccination antigrippale chez les internes de médecine générale de Basse-Normandie durant l’hiver 2018-2019

Abstract : Influenza vaccination is an effective way to prevent influenza and its complications. Residents and other health professionals are on the front line, they risk contracting it and passing it on to patients. This vaccination is recommended to all health professionals, including residents. WHO's goal is at least 75% immunization coverage in target populations. This study focuses on the vaccination coverage of family medicine residents of Basse-Normandie during the winter of 2018-2019. The objective is to improve the vaccination coverage of this population. By a descriptive, prospective and quantitative epidemiological study conducted between October and December 2018, we studied this vaccination coverage and looked at the impact of knowledge. 141 questionnaires were completed, representing a response rate of 53.4%. 87% of respondents were vaccinated in the last three years. Of these, 58% were not encouraged to be vaccinated, 29% were encouraged by the service in which they work, 15% by the entourage and 11% by the occupational medicine. 88% of family medicine residents intended to be vaccinated and the motives for this vaccination were to protect patients (93%), to protect themselves (73%) and to protect others (63%). The main obstacles identified were: forgetfulness, lack of time (50%). 58% judged their knowledge unsatisfactory. Caen's family medicine residents are properly vaccinated against influenza. More information on the different training sites and a reminder of the indications and the usefulness of influenza vaccination would be necessary.
