Évaluation d’une intervention de changement de comportement sur les facteurs de risque cardiovasculaire à 6 mois de la phase d’intervention du projet SPICES dans la grappe 12

Abstract : Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide. The SPICES project assesses the efficiency of behavioural change program and a brief advice for individuals with moderate cardiovascular risk upon the Interheart score versus a brief advice alone. In France, the intervention phase takes place in the centre-western area of Brittany for 24 months. This study compares data at 0 and 6 months in the cluster 12. Method : 6-month quantitative prospective interventional exploratory study, a one-for-one controlled randomized clinical trial. The main criterion was a 15% decrease of the Interheart score. Secondary criteria were assessed by measuring body mass index, alcohol reporting and WHOQOL-BREF, DASH-Q and IPAQ questionnaires. The group“Intervention” has benefited of a brief advice at 0 and 6 months upon the Interheart score and alcohol consumption and several meetings of behavioural changes animated by an accompanying citizen. The “control” group benefited of a brief advice at 0 and 6 months. Results : 45 individuals were eligible of which 22 were included in this study. 5 individuals have been lost-of-sight and 2 have stopped prematurely in the “intervention” group, 4 have been lost-of-sight in the “control” group. No significant differences were found after 6 months for the primary judgment criterion and the secondary ones. Discussion : the pursuit of the SPICES project and the results’ synthesis of the different clusters will increase its power. Behaviours were severely disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially as the number of meetings was reduced and the second assessment was postponed. The absence of significant modification of the Interheart score suggests the efficacity of the regular monitoring and the brief counselling in primary prevention and could be potentiated by a multidisciplinary personalized approach.
