Répéter pour grandir... Quels sont les apports de la répétition en séance de psychomotricité auprès d'enfants présentant des troubles du spectre de l'autisme ?

Abstract : This thesis is about the contributions of repetition in psychomotor therapy for children with autism spectrum disorders. The argumentation beggins with a theoretical point about autism and also about the implication of repetition in the development of the child. Then, the evocation of the impact of repetition in the functioning of an ASD subject is the argument for a psychomotor therapy. In fact, repetition is present in the child development from the earliest age with macrorhythms and microrhythms and also with the development of circular reactions. So, two types of repetitions can be identified: the repetition of the same and the repetition of the identical. This repetition has several functions and is useful in the child psychomotor development. It also appears in the diagnostic criteria of ASD. In the development, the repetition allows to anticipate what’s going to happen, to exist in a continuity, to integrate informations and to enter into relation with others. Moreover, repetition is important in the therapeutic setting which is essential for psychomotor care. All this will be shown at the end of the thesis by the case of a child with autism, Adam.
