Analyse de l’effet retest au test de « L’ Alouette-R » chez des enfants normolecteurs et lecteurs dyslexiques scolarisés en CM1 et CM2

Abstract : In clinical practice, repeated administration of the same test is commonly used to evaluate the effectiveness of a treatment or to measure a patient's progress. However, using the same test several times can generate a retest effect. To evaluate reading efficiency, the "Alouette-R" test is considered a reference test. Nevertheless, the possible existence of a retest effect on this test has never been studied to our knowledge. Thus, the aim of our study was to verify the presence of a retest effect on this test in normal readers and dyslexic readers children enrolled in 4th and 5th grade of elementary school. For this purpose, 71 normal readers and 13 dyslexic readers children were included in our study. Two phases of testing took place (T1 and T2). At T1, we administered to the participants tests assessing reading-related skills and the reading fluency "Alouette-R" test. At T2, only the "Alouette-R" test was offered. The results showed a significant difference in scores on the "Alouette-R" test between T1 and T2 for normal readers (p<0.001), which means that there is a retest effect. The scores of the dyslexic readers did not differ significantly and therefore do not reveal a retest effect. These results show that this test is a powerful diagnostic tool that can be used repeatedly without distorting the scores obtained. Future studies could perform this same procedure with a larger sample and take into consideration disparities in percent change between children to confirm our results.
