Cadre officiel de la pose du diagnostic de dyslexie et pratiques professionnelles : étude au sein de Bordeaux Métropole

Abstract : Faced with the recognition of the frequency of co-morbidities and the diversity of clinical pictures, the DSM-5 has revised the diagnostic criteria for so-called developmental dyslexia and the HAS has proposed a three-tiered care pathway to clarify the role of each and to reinforce that of the general practitioner. This relatively recent development and the complexity of these texts, which reflects that of the disorder, could make it difficult to comply with the framework. Through a questionnaire distributed within Bordeaux Metropole and addressed to speech and language therapists and medical professionals likely to be involved in this diagnosis, we have highlighted that the framework is little followed and that speech and language therapists are considered more responsible for this diagnosis than doctors. Re-specifying the texts, developing initial training and implementing a dedicated discussion time between professionals would help dispel doubts during diagnosis and homogenise practices by referring to a common basis.
