EBP et effets d’une remédiation morphosyntaxique sur la phonologie d’enfants présentant un trouble développemental du langage oral : étude de cas

Abstract : Developmental language disorder (DLD) affects different areas of language that are often treated independently of each other. An early study showed that morphosyntactic remediation could improve the phonology of preschool children with DLD. However, few investigations have investigated and confirmed this interdependent link between these two components. To overcome this gap, we thought that evidence-based morphosyntactic remediation (EBP) could be considered. Thus, we proposed a morphological baseline training on nominal inflections to two patients with DLD in preschool. The main objective was to verify whether there was an improvement in phonology between the beginning and the end of the training. Secondly, we evaluated the evolution of the morphology itself and then compared the phonology scores of the two patients. Our experiment revealed that morphology training brought an improvement in the normed phonology scores although they were not statistically significant. It also showed a very significant change in morphology for one patient and a weakly significant one for the other. The analysis of the phonology scores also made it possible to compare the progress made by the patients. This approach should be tested on a larger scale and shared in speech therapy clinics.
