APA, douleur et capacités locomotrices après arthroplastie de genou. Comparaison de deux programmes d’APA dans la réduction de la douleur et dans l’amélioration de la capacité de marche après arthroplastie de genou

Abstract : Knee arthroplasty is an effective treatment for gonarthrosis that aims to relieve pain and restore physical function. Despite this, there are currently no established standards for the rehabilitation of patients after surgery. This study was conducted to propose two APA programs and to judge the effectiveness of each in the rehabilitation of patients with a knee prosthesis, in order to submit proposals for postoperative management. A land-based APA program and an aquatic APA program were proposed, both based on resistance, balance, endurance, mobility, and gait training. 11 participants were randomized to both programs. The main objective of this study was to compare these programs in order to identify which one was more effective in improving walking ability and reducing pain. The hypothesis was that the joint relief offered by the aquatic environment would favour the reduction of pain and would thus enable the restoration of the subjects' locomotor capacities more effectively than the land-based program. Unfortunately, this hypothesis could not be verified due to the lack of results.
