Désir de jouer, désir d'apprendre : susciter et entretenir l'engagement dans les apprentissages linguistiques en UPE2A-Premier Degré

Abstract : This research deals with the scholar interactions during playing activities in three Pedagogic Units for Allophone Newcomers class context. Games are implemented in the process of teaching French as a second language in order to enhance the learners’ commitment. They prevent the risks of mistakes and are experienced as non-scholar situations. Hence the learners may easily appropriate the topics and the roles of the classroom. Their “playfull attitude” depends on the teacher’s actions because he remains the developer, the director and the actor of the playfull context. As he has the ability of dealing with mishap, the teacher promotes the “deritualizations” which are conducive to the acquisition of the communicative language skills situations. Thus this abstract aims at questioning the terms of the playfull context which are linked to the teaching choices and their effects on the acquisition of a second language at the primary school.
