Étude de comparaison entre l’estimation échographique du poids fœtal à 41 semaines d’aménorrhées et le poids de naissance au centre hospitalier de Valence

Abstract : Objectives. – Our primary objective was to determine the agreement between ultrasound fetal weight estimation (EFW) and birth weight (BW) at 41 weeks of amenorrhea and to evaluate whether adjusting for the 25 g/d growth effect improved outcomes. Methods. - We performed a retrospective study of 151 patients coming for consultation from January 1, 2019 to November 31, 2020 at the Valence maternity. EFW was performed during the term consultation at 41 SA by a midwife sonographer. It was adjusted in a second step by the growth effect of 25 g/d corresponding to the delay between the day of the ultrasound and the day of birth. Results. - The mean absolute bias between EFW and BW was 34.5 g [-11.7 ; 80.7]. The mean absolute bias between the adjusted EFW and BW was 139.1 g [92.5 ; 185.7]. Our results showed a tendency for inaccuracy of BW by the factors body mass index (BMI) > 24.9 kg/m², noncompliant uterine height (UH), and hypotrophic/macrosomal newborn. Conclusions. – EFW by ultrasound at term was consistent with birth weight. In contrast, adjustment by the growth effect did not improve the results. Furthermore, BMI, UH and extreme birth weights non-significantly influenced EFW at term.
