Évaluation des pratiques professionnelles de repérage de l’anorexie mentale face à une aménorrhée secondaire : une enquête déclarative

Abstract : Objectives: Describe spotting practices of anorexia nervosa in a patient with secondary amenorrhea and low BMI. Methods: Epidemiological observational descriptive multicentric study conducted in the form of survey of professional practices using self-questionnaire among general practitioners, gynecologists and midwives in hospitals and private practice. The duration of the study was 5 months. Results: Professionals searched an hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism while eliminating differential diagnoses of secondary amenorrhea. They looked for clues in the interview that could point to the diagnosis of anorexia nervosa. Conclusion: The diagnosis of anorexia nervosa can be done from the clinical examination and the questioning, but also using confirmation of an hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism. The lack of framework for identifying anorexia nervosa makes it difficult for professionals to make the diagnosis.
